Kem Kem fossil tour: It’s the shortest fossil tour. It starts in Zagora and progresses to the geology of south-east Morocco, which is rich in fossils.

1st Day: Zagora-Alnif: (Atlas fossil trip)

We will begin our Kem Kem fossil tour after breakfast at the hotel, travelling from Zagora to see the Cambrian site known for its calymine trilobite in Afrdou Mountain. Then after, we’ll go to Azurite minerals and acquire several pieces from miners there. Lunch under an Acacia tree. If we have time, we will visit large yellowish trilobites; otherwise, we can continue the following day. Arrive at the hotel in the evening to relax and spend the night.

2nd Day:Alnif-Rissani-Merzouga: (Kem Kem fossil tour)

We will begin our second day of the fossil trip with a departure from Merzouga via Rissani to explore Isoumour’s famed trilobites post paradise, where all species of Devonian trilobites lived together, and collect rolled phacops. Devonian rocks are also found in flat areas rather than mountains. Following that, we shall harvest red ammonites. Next vehicle to Mecessi to visit Lalla Mimouna site and collect some Devonian trilobites, then to Jbel M’dawar to collect Devonian goniatites, then to Merzouga Erg Chebbi magnificent sand dunes and spend the evening in a nice Merzouga hotel. It is difficult to visit more than two locations in one single day; however, you could determine what priorities to you are better to start with for each day.

3rd Day: Merzouga-Zagora: departure from Merzouga to Ebagaa and Taouz.

Early morning departure to the south of Erg Chebb to discover the Dinosaur teeth and bones mine near Ebagaa. Then we’ll head to Taouz and do some desert painting. After lunch, we’ll take the mines route and explore the Filon 12 mines, which produce iron, vanidit, barite, and galena. After around four hours of driving, return to the  hotel in Zagora.
