After breakfast, depart Marrakech and cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, visit a traditional salt mine and explore a Jurassic fossil site, where you can hunt for sea urchin fossils in their natural environment.
Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages.
Dinner and overnight in Ait Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, drive southeast toward the Anti-Atlas region. Stop at an ancient stromatolite site, one of the earliest evidence of life on Earth.
Continue to the Sredrar fossil area, famous for Orthoceras and trilobite fossils, where you can enjoy hands-on fossil hunting.
In the afternoon, travel to Alnif, a well-known fossil town.
